Benjamin Baker Receives Distinguished Military Graduate Award at Wheaton College (Ill.)

Wheaton College (Ill.) student Benjamin Baker of Haymarket, Va. was recently recognized as a Distinguished Military Graduate. The award was announced at Wheaton College's Honors Convocation.

The award is given by the Military Science Department at Wheaton College to the most outstanding of the graduating ROTC cadets in the areas of academics, leadership and service. Baker maintained high scholastic standards throughout his time as a cadet and student at Wheaton and successfully completed the U.S. Army Cadet Command Advanced Course at Fort Knox, Ky.

The purpose of the Army Reserve Officer's Training Corps is to enable college students to pursue a course of study which will qualify them, upon graduation, for appointment as officers in the United States Army, Army Reserve or National Guard.
