Kirsten Nitz becomes Wheaton College's first five-time individual National Champion

Wheaton College swimmer Kirsten Nitz made history at the 2016 NCAA Championships by winning the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.56 seconds. The title is Nitz's third National Championship in the 100 fly and her fifth overall National Championship, making her the first athlete in school history to win five individual National Championship.

In addition to her titles in the 100 fly, Nitz also won the 2013 200-yard backstroke and 2013 50-yard freestyle. She finished her Wheaton College swimming career with 13 All-American swims and 24 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships.
