Wheaton College Basketball Player Aston Francis Named Second Team Preseason All-American

Wheaton College junior Aston Francis of Tyler, Texas, was named a Second Team selection to the D3hoops.com Preseason All-America Team.

Francis will begin his second season with the Thunder in 2017-18, following a sophomore campaign that saw him earn First Team All-Central Region honors from D3hoops.com and Second Team All-Region accolades from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Francis also earned Preseason All-American honors from Street & Smith's Magazine. He is the third player in program history to earn Preseason All-American honors from D3hoops.com since the inception of the honor in 2010.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
