Wheaton College (Ill.) Men's Tennis Team Takes Second at CCIW Championships

Matthew Steiner, a junior on the Wheaton College men's tennis team, recently helped the Thunder take second at the 2016 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Championship. Steiner, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, is a graduate of Homestead High School.

The Thunder lost a hard-fought 5-3 matchup to Carthage College and finished the season with a 14-8 overall record.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
