Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Aston Francis Named Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Wheaton College sophomore Aston Francis of Tyler, Texas was named men's basketball Player of the Week by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).

This is Francis' third Player of the Week award from the CCIW this season. Francis leads the CCIW with an average of 23.7 points per game, a mark that ranks 11th among Division III players. Francis' 80 three-pointers leads the CCIW and ranks ninth among all Division III players. He also leads the CCIW in steals with 2.27 steals per game, a mark that ranks 34th in Division III.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
