Wheaton College (Ill.) Student-Athlete Katie McDaniels Recognized by D3hoops.com

Katie McDaniels, a member of the women's basketball team at Wheaton College, was recognized by D3hoops.com as First Team All-American during the spring 2016 semester.

McDaniels, of Shoreview, Minnesota, is a graduate of Mounds View High School.

The Thunder women's basketball team won the 2016 CCIW Basketball Tournament and reached the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. They ended the year with a 22-6 record.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
