Wheaton College (Ill.) Student-Athlete Kelly Thornton Recognized by College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW)

Kelly Thornton, a member of the volleyball team at Wheaton College (Ill.), was recognized by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) as Academic All-Conference during the fall 2015 semester.

Thornton, of Carol Stream, Ill., is a graduate of Wheaton North High School in Wheaton, Ill.

The Thunder volleyball program posted a 12-17 record in 2015 and finished fifth in the CCIW with a 3-4 conference record.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III Individual National Championships all-time.
