Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Favor Ezewuzie Named CCIW Track Athlete of the Week

Wheaton College student Favor Ezewuzie of Malden, Massachusetts, was named Indoor Track Athlete of the Week by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).

Ezewuzie won three events at North Central College's Pat Heenan Invitational and established three school records. She ran the 60-meter dash in 7.83 during the preliminaries, which ranks first in the CCIW and 19th on the NCAA Division III national list. Her time in the event also set a school record. Ezewuzie set a school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a first-place time of 9.03, which ranks second in the CCIW and 13th nationally. She also placed first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.43. Additionally, Ezewuzie finished second in the long jump with a school-record leap of 5.41 meters.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
