Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Favor Ezewuzie Named to All-Midwest Region Women's Track and Field Team

Wheaton College track and field athlete Favor Ezewuzie of Malden, Massachusetts, was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Midwest Region Women's Team. To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-five of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-three relay team.

Ezewuzie received five All-Region selections and was one of only five individuals nationally to earn five or more selections to this year's USTFCCCA All-Region teams. Ezewuzie posted the top effort this season in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.37 seconds at the Hillsdale Last Chance meet. Her second All-Region selection came in the long jump with the second-ranked effort in the Midwest Region this year of 19' 0" at North Central's Gregory Invitational. Her time of 12.20 seconds in the 100-meter dash at the Hillsdale Last Chance Meet ranked fifth in the region this year and she was fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.12 at the CCIW Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Ezewuzie was also a member of the All-Region 4x400-meter relay team.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
