Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Hannah Roeske Named CCIW Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Wheaton College freshman Hannah Roeske of Eleva, Wisconsin, was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Roeske's selection marks the 10th time that a Wheaton student-athlete as earned the honor since the conference began the recognition in 2009. Roeske helped lead the Thunder women's cross country program to a first-place finish at Aurora University's Spartan Classic, where she posted a time of 22:46.9 on the 6K course to finish third out of 117 runners in her first collegiate meet.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
