Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Katie McDaniels Earns Academic All-District Recognition

Wheaton College senior Katie McDaniels of Shoreview, Minnesota was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 Women's Basketball Team for the third consecutive year.

The Academic All-District Team is a part of the CoSIDA All-America program that honors student-athletes annually who have succeeded at the highest level in athletics and in the classroom. Members of the eight First Team Academic All-District squads in each Division advance to the national ballot, where they have the opportunity to be selected for the Academic All-America Team.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
