Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Katie McDaniels Named a Finalist for the Jostens Trophy

Wheaton College student Katie McDaniels of Shoreview, Minnesota was named a finalist for the 2017 Jostens Trophy.

The Jostens Trophy honors the most outstanding Division III basketball players of the year, considering basketball ability, academic prowess and community service. This is the second-consecutive year that McDaniels has been named a finalist for the award. She helped lead the program to its third-consecutive CCIW Championship and CCIW Tournament Championship in 2016-17.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
