Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Leif Van Grinsven Earns Indoor Track and Field All-Midwest Region Honors

Wheaton College student Leif Van Grinsven of Franklin, Wisconsin, earned Division III Men's Indoor Track and Field All-Midwest Region recognition from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Van Grinsven set a school record this year in the men's heptathlon with 4.943 points. The junior's effort is fifth in the Midwest region and ninth in Division III in the multi-event competition.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
