Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Leif Van Grinsven Named to All-Midwest Region Men's Track and Field Team

Wheaton College student Leif Van Grinsven of Franklin, Wisconsin, was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Midwest Region Team. To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-five of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-three relay team.

Van Grinsven earned All-Region in the decathlon for the third-consecutive year. His CCIW Championship effort of 6,725 points ranked first in the Midwest Region this year.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
