Wheaton College student Madeline Lanois of S Hamilton, Massachusetts was a member of the 2016 women's cross country team.

The Wheaton College women's cross country team won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships, the team's first conference title since 2008. The team concluded their season with a 15th place finish at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional race.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
