Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Marissa Heath Named Track and Field Athlete of the Week

Wheaton College sophomore Marissa Heath of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track Athlete of the Week.

Heath is Wheaton's first student-athlete to win the award in outdoor track and field this season. At the Wheaton Invitational, Heath won the women's 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.62. Her effort at Saturday's meet currently ranks second in the CCIW and is 11th on the NCAA Division III national list.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
