Wheaton College (Ill.) Student Timothy Henry Recognized by Physics Department

Wheaton College student Timothy Henry was recently recognized with the Homer G. and Blanche C. Benton Scholarship. This award was presented at Wheaton College's Honors Convocation.

The Homer G. and Blanche C. Benton Scholarship is a merit-based award given to a third year Liberal Arts Engineering student who stays in residence on the Wheaton College campus and is involved in the Wheaton College community for their entire five year program. Students receiving this award receive financial support for the last 3 years of the 5 year program and must finish their engineering degree with a local engineering school such as the Illinois Institute of Technology or University of Illinois- Chicago.

Through a combination of rigorous coursework, hands-on laboratory training, and research experience, the Physics Department at Wheaton College prepares students for going on to graduate school, physics teaching, industrial careers, and a variety of other jobs that take advantage of the analytical and problem solving abilities of physicists.
