Wheaton College (Ill.) Women's Tennis Team Wins CCIW Tournament

Emma Westwick, a freshman on the Wheaton College women's tennis team, recently helped the Thunder win the 2016 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Automatic Qualifier Tournament. The victory earned Wheaton an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship, where they were eliminated in the opening round.

This year marked the 10th time in program history that the Thunder have participated in the NCAA Championship, and the team posted an 18-2 overall record for the season.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
